I had a wonderful day and a night at Kista mosque, Stockholm. Day before yesterday, the jamaat people visited us for dawah. They then convinced me to go with them. Actually, I was totally free and wanted to get involved in some activities to keep myself motivated. They had a car with them and I was escorted with them to the mosque.
In the mosque, we prayed esha together. The sermon was good. However there was a slight element of hatred of non-muslims at one point. However, to his credit, he did try to preach peaceful practices. Also I found that many of the people in the jamaat wanted to give nice gestures to non-Muslims in addition to the Muslims. They think that it will help them to convert to Islam.
For me, most of the sermons were replaced with 'Allah' replaced by 'myself'. In that way it was sort of a personal motivation session. It really did effect me as now I feel more motivated towards getting a nice job or getting my dream Phd. (which I fear isn't there so I am not applying :).
